Raven-Symone: Oprah Was Right, Black Twitter Hates Me -- 25 Things

It’s the future Oprah can see! When Raven-Symone sat down with Oprah Winfrey in 2014 for OWN’s Where Are They Now? series, she shocked many fans by making some bold comments about race and ethnicity.

“I’m an American, I’m not an African-American,” Symone, 29, firmly said at the time.

“Oh girl, you’re going to set Twitter on fire,” a shocked Winfrey replied.

When The View‘s new co-host sat down with Us Weekly to dish on 25 Things we don’t know about her, she also reflected on that moment.

“She told me that black Twitter’s going to hate me forever. She was right,” Symone said, laughing. “I love you, Oprah. She’s like everybody’s rich aunt. She’s really close to you, but she’ll never give you any of her money.”

But not all topics were as serious as the stir Symone caused in the black community. She also revealed that her ‘90s celebrity crushes were both Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) and Lisa Turtle (Lark Voorhies) from Saved by the Bell.
